Cop on the Edge, Episode 2

I yanked open the car door. What I saw inside hit me like a ton of lead. It was the dame.

"So," I said, recovering myself. "It's you. And after all we've been through together!"

"What?" she said, feigning ignorance. Oh, that same sly tone---the one she'd used on me a thousand times. Well, I wasn't falling for it---not again!

"Don't play innocent with me!" I told her. "I got you red handed. You're goin' down for this."

"Come on..."

"Come on nothin'! You really had me fooled didn't you? Those tight dresses, that thick musk, and all those late nights. You played me like a deck of marked cards! Well, it ends here! I'm through!"

"Come on!" she cried. "It's only a damn speeding ticket!"
